WSOP Online Series 2022 – Week 1
The first week of the 3rd annual World Series of Poker Online (WSOP-O), hosted by GGPoker; the world’s most prestigious poker tournament at the world’s biggest poker room has finished. Three WSOP bracelets have already been won with a fourth that will be won today. In addition, over the weekend, there are 3 more events that will begin (and maybe end) including a a monster event and a MONSTER event, but more on those later.
The first event to award a bracelet was the World Series of Poker Online Event #2: Every 1 for War Relief. This $1,111 buy-in charity event, which donated $111 per buy-in to the National Bank of Ukraine to aid the victims of the ongoing conflict, attracted a total of 730 players. Creating a prize pool of $811,030 for the 2 day event, it was ‘C Segebrecht’ who won the event and earned $102,152.18 for the effort.
WSOP Bracelet Events
Event #1: The Housewarming No-Limit Hold’em, officially the first event of the WSOP Online poker tournament series, offered a $2,022,000 guarantee on a $500 ($475 + $25) buy-in and multiple Day 1’s. Over the week, a total of 5,099 players joined the festivities and chase for a World Series of Poker Championship Bracelet. Of the starting pack, 772 players made it through to Day 2 to compete for the $2,422,025 prize pool, a significant jump from the guarantee. This prize pool guaranteed the final table would all receive at least nearly $30,000 and the final four would all earn over $100,000. It took 8 hours of play on Day 2 for ‘S Schillhabel’ who topped the pack to claim the bracelet and the victory worth $296,409.59.
The third event of the official World Series of Poker Online tournament series was event #3: Limit Hold’em Championship. Similar to most of the events in this poker tournament series, there was no prize guarantee other than the coveted WSOP bracelet. The big $2,500 buy-in and no guarantee did not scare off anyone as 124 players jumped at the chance to become the champion. Creating a prize pool of $294,500 and a top prize of $64,671.04. It took 28.5 hours over 2 days of play for ‘BruxoR10’ to claim the victory in this championship event.
Thursday August 18 at 18:00 UTC marked the start of the fourth bracelet event as part of the World Series of Poker online poker tournament series. The event, a $1,050 buy-in Bounty Deepstack No Limit Hold’em event, had progressive bounties starting at $250 per player. When late registration was completed, a total of 986 players bought in to fight for the victory. From the starting field, just 26 survived to the end of level 30 and the pause before the final day of the event. The event will resume on Friday August 19 at 18:00 UTC as the final 4 tables play down for the top prize of $39,861.16, the lion’s share of the bounty and the WSOP Online Bracelet.
The Weekend Events
This weekend, the first full weekend of the World Series of Poker Online poker tournament series, GGPoker is hosting dozens of WSOP Online side events. With buy-ins ranging from as low as $15 for the WSOP Online: Bounty Blastoff up to the $25,500 buy-in WSOP High Rollers: Sunday Super HR, there is a myriad of choices for all online poker players. In addition to the side events, there are 3 WSOP Championship bracelet events that begin in earnest.
The 6- Handed Bounty No-Limit Hold’em Event #5 is scheduled to begin at 18:00 UTC on Saturday August 20. This $315 buy-in bounty poker tournament will play with just 6 players per table. A scheduled pause in the event after level 30 will give players a chance to rest before the final day picks up the action on Sunday August 21 at 18:00 UTC. Multiple satellites with guaranteed seats are scheduled to run right up to the end of late registration for this event so there is ample opportunity to get in on the action and claim a championship bracelet.
Like most of the bracelet events that are part of the World Series of Poker Online Tournament Series, Event #6: MONSTER STACK No-Limit Hold’em plays out over 2 days. The first 30 levels begin Sunday August 21 at 18:00 at which point the tournament will pause until Monday August 22 at 18:00 when it will conclude.
$10,000,000 Guaranteed
The first of the major World Series of Poker Events is Event #7: Million Dollar Mystery Bounty. This $210 buy-in Mystery Bounty tournament offers a $10,000,000 guarantee including a top bounty prize of $1,000,000. Day 1’s for this tournament are scheduled to run every three hours until 3 hours before the start of day 2 when they run every 2 hours. Step satellites for this monstrous event start from as little as $1 and are constantly running. This could be your best chance to win a WSOP Major Poker Tournament and Bracelet for less than a cup of coffee. The World Series of Poker Online Championship in the biggest Mystery bounty tournament ever. Day 2 of this poker tournament will begin Monday August 22 at 18:00 UTC.
Coming This Week
Two more WSOP Bracelet events are scheduled for the following week. First, on Tuesday August 23 is the $5,000 buy-in Event #8: 6-Handed NLH Championship followed by the $525 buy-in Event #9: Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha on Thursday August 25. The two weekday events have a few similarities: both of these poker tournaments start at 18:00 UTC on their respective days, they will both play for 30 levels before breaking for a long pause, will both resume at 18:00 UTC the next day and both offer a robust set of satellites and step satellites.
